The Harveys Brand
William Harvey commenced conducting his real estate business in 1918 in the Hawkes Bay region of New Zealand.
Years later, William’s son and family moved to Auckland with the intention of growing the family business. In 1980 William’s grandson, a real estate agent, purchased an office based in Blockhouse Bay. During the next year or so he opened two more offices in Mt Roskill and Green Bay. And expanded the business to include eight offices throughout West Auckland.
From 1990 to 2004, Ross Hunter and Ross Barraclough purchased Harveys and expanded into other areas growing the brand.
Multi-brand pioneer
In 2010 LJ Hooker was the first major Australasian network to successfully integrate and operate dual brands as a result of a merger with our 100-year strong brand. Instead of converting Harveys offices to the LJ Hooker brand, it was decided to operate both brands side by side – two brands, one team.
